Roll Back Car Hauler

Once the 4 steps above have been completed then using your trailer brake controller, reverse your vehicle and the trailer will begin to tilt.  Once the rear of the trailer hits the ground then it is ready for you to drive your vehicle up.

Above/Below are steps to tilt the trailer for loading/unloading.  Please be sure to connect the trailer properly to your tow vehicle.  Locking the hitch, securing the safety chains, securing the breakaway cable, connecting the 7-pin connector, and verifying trailer lights.

Set your truck trailer brake controller to a low gain while towing the trailer unloaded.  Increase the gain with load.  Testing to ensure the trailer assists in stopping your vehicle but does not lock up the trailer tires.

Step 1:  There is a cotter pin holding the main pin for the tilt function.  Remove the pin to allow the trailer to roll back.

Step 2: Engage the e-brake for loading and unloading of vehicle.  It is also a good idea to engage the e-brake while parked.  NEVER leave the e-brake engaged while driving with the trailer.

Step 3: Remove the pin just behind the drivers side fender.  This is a visual pin for letting you know if the trailer is ready to tilt or not.

Step 4: Pull the pin and rotate it 90 degrees until it locks in the upright position as in the picture to the right (ready for tilt).

  • Once the four steps above have been completed, you are ready to tilt the trailer back.  Using your tow vehicle, reverse slowly until the rear of the trailer is on the ground.  The trailer e-brake should hold but it helps to engage your truck trailer brake controller as well.
  • After your vehicle is loaded on the trailer then pull forward until the trailer is level and forward until the visual pin (step 3) is lined up.  Again it helps to use your truck trailer brake controller while pulling forward.
  • Release the rear pin (step 4) until it is in the "Trailer Locked" position
  • Replace the visual pin (step 3)
  • Replace the main pin at the tongue of the trailer (step 1)
  • Disengage the trailer e-brake (step 2)
